An interface between science, the arts, technologies and the river

Rosario has a history of innovation and cooperation that makes it a regional reference in creative industries, public technologies, public-private collaboration and science. Continuing the Tricentennial celebrations, the Bienal de RosaRIO 2027 puts the city on the events map as an international hub for transdisciplinary collaboration.

The Biennial is an interspecies, intergenerational, multi-stakeholder and multi-level platform: a vital pulse of cities that overflow, create and experiment.

“All times, one river” as the 2027 motto, it stands as a first political, poetic and material statement of a Biennial that seeks to position itself through an amphibious practice rather than a disciplinary drive. Because rivers embrace flow and become one, another, many. And they overflow. They are new, without edges and without times to contain them. A Biennial where technology, the arts, science and the river flow and question one another.

Three channels, five zones, one river

Three curatorial axes organize the event. None of them is the center: all are nodes and flows for participation.

The channels

01

Overflows of Time

An axis that questions the contemporary state of overflow: accelerationism, fatigue, bits of water, memory, who remembers and who decides what remains. It invites us to examine which technical, artificial and human drives accelerate or halt the common.

02

The Power of Wonder in Artificial Times

An axis focused on practices and movements that experiment with the displacement of limits and give material form to the dialogue between science, art, technologies and nature.

03

River Diplomacy

A manifesto on being all of us, one river. An amphibious community to explore futures, cities, bridges, flows and new forms of cooperation.

The zones

Exhibition

Works, installations and artifacts distributed across the city's venues, including proposals co-created with other cities.

Design and Experimentation Offices

Open spaces for prototyping, experimentation and training.

Object Exchange Office

Coordination between artists, cultural managers and institutions to agree on acquisitions, loans, curatorships and shared calls.

Thinking Hub

Talks on the agendas that run through the Biennial.

Side Events

Gatherings, festivals, walks, performances: activities that strengthen alliances, cooperation and diplomacy.

Upcoming open calls

Calls to build the first edition.
